Game Rules

Welcome to TransferTarget. We aim to create the most realistic manager game, where your team is evaluated based on a sophisticated rating model that takes into account over 100 real-life game actions. It is not only simple parameters like goals or assists that count, but a wide range of parameters that together reward a player who has actually played a good match.

Buying and Selling

On the market, you must buy a squad with at least 18 players for your budget of 125 million, with a maximum of 4 players from the same team.

Between each round, you can buy and sell players. Note, however, that player values change depending on their performances in each match. Furthermore, their prices are updated each day based on their popularity - The more players own the player, the more valuable he becomes and vice versa. There is a 5% transfer fee when selling players. So, it is important to find the right time to make changes to your squad.

Starting Lineup

For each round, you must set your starting lineup with 11 players and 1 captain. Between rounds, you can make changes, for example in case of injuries or if a player on your bench faces a favorable opponent.

You can choose your formation among the typical formations. The following formations are allowed:

  • 3-4-3
  • 3-5-2
  • 4-3-3
  • 4-4-2
  • 4-5-1
  • 5-4-1
  • 5-3-2

Note: It is your own responsibility to ensure that you have 18 players in the squad, 11 players in the starting lineup, and have chosen a captain.

Player Ratings and Team Ratings

Based on 100+ data points from the matches, each player receives a rating from 1-10 based on their actions in the matches.

Players who do not play or are benched receive 0 points.

Read below how each player gets their score based on data from real matches.

Each round, your team receives a rating between 0-10, which is the average of all players in your starting lineup plus your captain. The higher the rating, the better you have performed.

Start and End Date

The game starts with the first round of the Premier League on August 16 and covers the autumn matches until the end of December. After that, a new game starts.

Rounds

The game is divided into rounds, where each team typically plays one match per round. Postponed and rescheduled matches may mean that a team does not play or plays 2 matches in another round.

If a player plays 2 matches in one round, the player will get their score from their best match. If the player only plays one of the two matches, it is the score from the match where the player is on the field that counts.

Tournaments

You can create tournaments and invite friends to compete. Here you compete head-to-head and get points based on your team's rating vs the opponent's rating. If you win, you are awarded 3 points. If it is a draw, you get 1 point, while a lost match gives no points.

Club Transfers

If a player changes club in real life, the player also does so in the game. If the transfer is to a club outside the league, the player can no longer score points. But of course, you can then sell him on the market.

Number of Clubs

It is only allowed to create one club per person. At TransferTarget, multi-club ownership is prohibited.
